About Us

We live in a society of full-scale pendulum swings. Not all that long ago, rules were rigid, opinions concerning right and wrong were clearly defined (whether accurate or not), and there was a standard of living that was considered upright. Fast forward to today and we have so much liquidity to our beliefs that we can’t define gender, let alone right and wrong.

Herein lies the problem. We were never meant to define the standard by which we live, or even inherently understand the difference between right and wrong. When we attempt to create our own foundation of morality, we create nothing but shifting sand and pure chaos.

Scripture tells us, “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately wicked; who can understand it?” (Jer. 17:9) We don’t have to live long to know that our minds are always changing. From our favorite color when we’re little to the tattoo we swear we’ll never regret as an adult, life has a way of showing us that our “wisdom in the moment” is fleeting. When we allow our hearts to establish the basis from which we view the world and from which we create our moral compass, we are only inviting chaos and confusion into our lives.

We see evidence of this as opinion wars concerning politics, gender, human rights, and a myriad of other topics rage before our eyes as many calibrate their own moral compass. It was never meant to be our job, and we are only created heartache and division.

But God, in His great love for us, gave us His Word so that we could know His heart and the truths by which He established the foundations of the world. God, Himself, is truth. He is not just the model of honesty, but the creator and originator of all things, including the foundation of truth with which He established the world and the standard by which He expects it to be upheld. God always was and always is. He is never-changing, steadfast, faithful, and true to Himself and His Word.

We do not need to worry that His character will shift or swing with the pendulum of culture. This is the Rock on which we can establish our lives. It is not only our best option, it is THE option. Which brings us to urgency.

Our world has rejected truth, screaming from the mountaintops that we can live our own truth, identify our own path, call it good, and stand strong in it, whatever it may be. This is a lie that is drawing more away from God’s truth every day. Not only has the world rejected God’s truth, but many churches are also turning their backs on the truth of God’s Word and adopting theology of impulse, abundance, tolerance, and assimilation. We, as the Church are called to be set apart, to live differently because we are loved, and love, differently. We are to seek to God’s heart through His Word, not through the opinions of man, theologians, popular pastors, or influencers.

The Church has become infiltrated by those who distort the truth of the Word, all the while relying on the fact that very few seek the truth out for themselves. This has created a falling away, confusion at the least, and few know where to stand.

Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, but by Me.” The Father holds fast to truth, and His Son makes a way to the Father. However, we have distorted His message to such a degree that many believe they know the Father and Son, but just as He said, in the end, many will hear Him say, “I never knew you.”

This is urgent. This is life and death, eternally. This is the message that is to drive every Christian, every moment of every day.

It is this burden that drives Urgent Truth Ministries. The truth is sometimes painful, but it is our hope and salvation. We invite you to join us as we seek God’s Word, dispel common lies, and tackle difficult subjects in our pursuit of God’s glorious truth.

Teach me Your way, O Lord; I will walk in Your truth. Unite my heart to fear Your name. Psalm 86:11

Scripture Interprets Scripture

Is there truth?
If so, why the urgency?

Statement of Faith

The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testament, was inspired by the Holy Spirit, and written by chosen men of God. It is centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ and is the final authority in all matters of doctrine and practice.
(2 Tim 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

The Godhead
We believe in one triune God, eternally existing as three persons yet one in being, essence, power, and glory. (Matt 28:19; John 10:30; 2 Cor 13:14)
God the Father – Sovereign, holy, Father of all Creation (Ps 103:19; Rev 4:11)
God the Son – Jesus Christ, God incarnate through virgin birth, sent to earth for the salvation of man (Isaiah 7:14; Matt 1:23; Phil 2:5-8; 1 John 5:11-12)
God the Holy Spirit – God dwelling in and among us to comfort and convict, drawing men to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ (John 14:26; John 16:7-11; Eph 1:13-14)

Mankind
We believe that man was created in the image of God. However, through the disobedience of one man, Adam, sin entered the world separating all mankind from God. All people are sinners by nature and by choice and have no hope for an eternity in heaven with God apart from a new birth made possible by Christ’s death and bodily resurrection. (Gen 1:26-27; Jer 17:9; Rom 3:10-12; Rom 5:12)

Salvation
We believe that salvation is God’s free gift to all who will receive it and that the atonement provided by Christ is sufficient for all the world. Salvation is obtained by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ, with no contribution of human works. Christ’s sinless life and substitutionary death on the cross fully paid the debt of sin, justified and redeemed man, while propitiating the wrath of God. Once a person places faith in the finished work of Christ, they are born again and have passed from death to life. We affirm that salvation, once attained, is secure and cannot be lost. (John 3:16; John 10:28; Rom 3:23-25; Rom 6:23; Rom 8:38-39; Rom 10:9-10; Eph 2:8-9; 1 John 2:2)

Church
The purpose of the church is to glorify Christ by evangelizing the lost, equipping believers, and making disciples through solid, Christ-centered biblical teaching. The local church also provides a place for believers to corporately worship Christ and extend practical ministries by means of their Spiritual gifts to the community.
(Matt 28:19-20; Rom 12:4-5; Eph 4:11-12)

Things to Come
We believe in a coming rapture of Christ’s church, followed by a period of tribulation and the second coming of Jesus Christ to earth where He will reign in a literal 1000-year kingdom after which He will judge all men. All those who have placed their faith in Christ will enter a literal heaven as a place of eternal life with God, while all who have rejected Christ will enter a literal hell as a place of everlasting judgment. (1 Thess 4:13 – 5:11; 2 Thess 2:1-12; Rev 19:11-16; Rev 20)
